I don't really think it'll ever happen to be honest. In America everyone there has the same culture and values, whereas in Europe there are so many different cultures and languages that I think that would be a barrier to stop us ever becoming united as one country. I don't think that Europe would ever want to become one big country because there are too many governments here who'd be fighting over who got power. I mean anyone who's been to Europe you may understand what I mean. If you got to, say, Italy, you can see quite clearly that everyone there is so much different to English people or French people, just like English people are different to French people, German people are different to Spanish people etc etc. What does anyone else think? |
| Jen January 12, 2005 11:24 AM PST o yeh i no america is pretty diverse but i wudn't say it is as diverse as europe, the language barrier is jst the beginning of the problem really. | ||
| SSunsprite January 7, 2005 09:06 AM PST NOT everyone in America has the same culture and values. Wea re as diverse as any other conitent is. Ask other Americans on Blogdrive, they will say the same. :) | ||
| Parisian15 October 18, 2004 05:48 AM PDT I think you are right. Furthermore, I don't like that Europe they are constructing. No use to say, I respect Andy's choice to go back to Pounds Shilling and Pence and village policeman. ;) | ||
| Nikki September 22, 2004 11:50 AM PDT it wont work...everyone hates the french too much (no offence to any froggys) | ||
| TiawanaJane September 7, 2004 10:49 AM PDT I think it's what Dubya and Tony are aiming for...Europe becomes Sovietised. Scary, scary stuff... | ||
| JM September 1, 2004 12:58 AM PDT Exactly, although states in America have their own laws, etc, they are nowhere near as different to each other as European countires are. Besides, there are probably too many rivalries between various countries for them to all join together | ||
| Lorna August 31, 2004 07:54 AM PDT I wholeheartedly agree :D | ||
| Andy August 31, 2004 01:49 AM PDT Europe has gone far enough. I'd always be against any further integration, and with the recent addition of the new European states, if we joined as a federal europe, it would be a retrograde step for the UK. I also want to go back to Pounds Shillings and Pence, and village policeman. | ||
